Since 1812, Claridge’s has been an icon of the British luxury hotel scene. After a seven-year renovation project that concluded in 2022, the Maybourne Hotel Group’s London flagship successfully catapulted itself into the 21st century without losing a single iota of its beloved character. Today, the hotel houses 269 rooms, with its original Regency-style suites delicately retouched with muted earth tones to invoke a sense of calm while holding onto its classic English eccentricity. Within its renovation – which added floors beneath the hotel so as to not alter its beloved historical facade – it also added a vast range of facilities, including a 7,000 sq ft spa and 25m swimming pool: particularly remarkable in a Central London where space is a serious luxury. Its newly refreshed food and beverage offering, which has played host to a number of big names over the years, including Gordon Ramsay and Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, is now centred around the hotel’s namesake restaurant, which focuses on English classics served at a fine dining level. Don’t forget to visit Claridge’s Bar for one of London’s best Martinis.
