Set in a vast, high-ceilinged former gym in London’s fast-developing King’s Cross district, German Gymnasium is divided into three parts: the restaurant, the Grand Café and the Meister Bar. In the elegant upstairs restaurant, executive chef Bjoern Wassmuth serves refined seasonal dishes such as smoked salmon tartare and slow-roasted duck, while in the slightly more casual downstairs Grand Café there are more German-centric options such as currywurst, schnitzels, hotdogs and burgers.
