Once inside, it quickly becomes clear how deeply the downtown bar embodies Austin’s signature laid-back sophistication: the bartenders are unassuming yet talented, the space casual but refined, and the martinis, punches and other cocktails (many rooted in classic frameworks) are some of the best the city has to offer, especially when paired with local charcuterie and cheese plates. At about 800 square feet, the long and narrow space easily accommodates small groups of duos and trios looking for a quiet nightcap or a brief respite from the hectic pace of downtown.
