Located in a historic greystone building adjacent to Moreno’s Liquors, one of southside Chicago’s most beloved family-run booze shops, Osito's Tap is Mike Moreno Jr.'s understated neighborhood cocktail bar featuring drinks made with nods to Latin America. As the third-generation of the Moreno family, Mike Jr. opened the bar in 2019 with a list of smart cocktails inspired by classic drinks and dishes from Mexico and beyond, many featuring the outstanding agave spirits selection the shop is known for, plus a handful of delectable Micheladas. The vibe inside is classic vintage Chicago tavern through and through, and while the bar's namesake has since passed - Osito was the family Chihuahua; the "little black bear" was the mascot for the store - his friendly spirit carries on in the laid-back community space.
