While similar in size to the original New York location, Death & Co’s third site in Los Angeles’ Arts District was designed from the ground up to have an identity of its own. Pooling from the same core speakeasy DNA as its older sibling, the LA offspring’s main attraction is its dark and moody subterranean lounge, known as the Standing Room. Its expansive menu covers 25 cocktails, ranging from the ‘Light and Playful’ to the ‘Bright and Confident’, alongside a solid range of Californian wines and selection of global beers on tap. Should you require more than a liquid diet while visiting, its kitchen is just as noteworthy, with plates of buttermilk fried chicken or cranberry bean succotash on offer in Standing Room to keep your hunger sated throughout an evening of relaxed, sophisticated drinks.
