On the fourth floor of Manhattan West Plaza in NYC, elevator doors open to reveal the ultra-stylish Chez Zou, a discreet cocktail bar that opened in 2022 from the team behind Mediterranean restaurant Zou Zou's. With a stunning interior design scheme from notable designers AvroKO, the lavish textures, bold patterns and strategically placed glowing lights are meant to evoke the feeling of traditional tea rooms of the Middle East. The impressive cocktails devised by Joey Smith (formerly of The NoMad, Eleven Madison Park and Booker & Dax) likewise feature flavours that invoke the Mediterranean, such as cardamom, fig, dates and saffron, and fall into six categories on the menu: jarras, stiff drinks, shaken, coladas, highballs and bubbles.
