Launched in 2021 in collaboration with Sam Ross of Attaboy fame, Youngblood is the latest venue from San Diego hospitality stalwarts CH Projects – the organisation behind Raised by Wolves, False Idol and more. Youngblood may be the most modish of the bunch. It’s so cool, entrance to the bar is accessible exclusively via a fridge door within the Neighborhood building. Past the obscured entrance, the interior of the bar exudes the gilded opulence of the drinking establishments of yesteryear, accented by swathes of velvet and basked in a warming hue. Tying together the intimate bar space that seats just 16 guests, a 17-foot long brass chandelier hangs above imbibers to hammer home the feeling of bespoke luxury. There is no menu at Youngblood. Instead, guests are invited to experience its 90-minute expedition of three cocktails, with the only option for alteration available being the addition of a welcome glass champagne upon arrival. Let your preferences be known to the clued-up bartending team and they’ll create you something just to your taste. Book well in advance.
