Spirits nerds will delight in a visit to this Capitol Hill destination where a highly curated and diverse collection of spirits gems from around the world takes root. Owner Matthew Powell – yes, he is an actual medical professional – has traveled the world sourcing the most interesting spirits for the programme, which are served by the ounce or flight. Cocktails (classic, contemporary, and bespoke) are also available, and to ensure guests are informed about what they are consuming, the doc lists how many grams of alcohol each cocktail contains on the menu. Charcuterie and cheese boards from local producers keep hunger at bay, and for the ultimate special treat, access to a Deep Cuts section of the menu – featuring rare, vintage and obscure treasures from Japan, Peru, France, the Caribbean and beyond – can be arranged in-person for a future date. With only 12 seats available in the minimal space, reservations are recommended.
