The Death & Co empire has expanded from New York, Denver and Los Angeles into the country’s capital of Washington DC with all of the same gusto and spirit as its predecessors. The outpost opened in the former Columbia Room space on Blagden Alley in mid-2023 with an extensive menu featuring more than two dozen cocktails, arranged into categories including light and playful, boozy and honest, bright and confident and more. With interiors designed by Aamp Studio, the cosy space still bears one of the murals from its previous inhabitants as an homage to its legacy, plus a few new interior decor choices that nod back to the NYC flagship, such as the moody lighting, an intimate arrangement of booths and a long wood ceiling. Outside, an 800 square-foot bright and airy patio bar serves guests during the warmer months.
