Waiting in line is no longer the initiation ceremony for one of Washington DC’s most talked about restaurants. This bare brick room, with its mismatched crockery and secret rooftop garden, has finally started accepting bookings. Aaron Silverman – who also owns fellow in-demand DC venue Pineapple & Pearls – prides himself on irreverent flavour combinations and a menu that sticks two fingers up at the rule book. Punchy small plates, including the likes of lychee salad with pork sausage, are followed by house-made pastas and family sized sharing dishes such as tender chicken loosely inspired by traditional Indian tandoori.
