The name translates roughly as ‘fun’ and that’s exactly the motto of this colouful beachfront restaurant bar. At the helm is award-winning chef Prashant Chipkar, whose vision was to craft modern incarnations of traditional Indian small plates and gin-forward pours (the bar houses one of the city’s largest collections) that pick up on Indian ingredients and a global palate. Encompassing the first floor, the breezy bar space – with its turquoise banquette seating and high tables – features a striking terrace space made for kicking back. Talented mixologists come into their own with the likes of aromatic The Taj Kiss – gin, falernum, velvet syrup, fennel and Prosecco – nutty Sassy Lassys (dried mango, toasted coconut-infused whiskey, baked pineapple, cardamom leaf and bayberry) – and the fascinating Driftwood, a smoky mix of rum, sweet potato cordial, seaweed, oak and edible ash.
