Serving contemporary Nikkei cuisine, Mikka has all the Peruvian-Japanese classics from sashimi, sushi and ceviche to temaki cones and wok-fried beef and langoustine. There are also house specialties including 48-hour short ribs and oven-cooked seabass with shellfish, drawing on Pacific Ocean produce. Everything is stunningly presented, from the skirt steak nigiri topped with an egg to the beautiful Mikka rice, served in a stone pot with oriental veg, prawns and octopus. The dining room itself is a stylish yet laidback spot with comfy banquettes, bare wooden tables and a view onto the sushi counter and grill.
