Quadri
Venice, Italy
A crumbling palazzo, 17th-century interiors and views over the many curves and colonnades of St. Mark’s Square, Quadri is one of Venice’s most quintessential restaurants. The Alajmo family – who run Michelin three-star Le Calandre in Padua – have been at the helm since 2011 and chef Massimiliano Alajmo sources his menus from the lagoon where possible. Expect rich burrata ravioli with clams, cuttlefish and tiny shrimp, as well as decadent beef carpaccio sprinkled with pearls of caviar. The wine list includes bottles from eastern Europe and the UK, as well as 19 of Italy’s 20 regions.
