In the past decade it's felt like Neopolitan pizza with its chewy crust has taken over the world. Well, it's arrived in Riyadh, within the vibrant surrounds of The Social Pizzeria, where you're just as likely to see a group of friends celebrating a special occasion as a family spending some quality time together. The interior is light, bright and elegant with marble surfaces, polished concrete floors and plenty of plants alongside pops of colour from the vibrant aqua upholstery. Pizzas are prepared from scratch and finished in the vast wood-fired oven, imported from Florence for an authentic taste of Italy, and variations include a white pizza topped with truffle, one with Kalamata olives, pesto, rocket, mozzarella, parmesan and balsamic plus a more unusual buffalo chicken creation. There's also a choice of larger dishes like chicken piccata (here renamed chicken Capri) plus pasta dishes like lasagne and a creamy burrata salad.
