The Waterside

The latest addition to South Africa's revered La Colombe Group, The Waterside opened its doors in late 2021 within the glossy Victoria & Alfred Waterfront development. The name is quite literal: guests can take their pick from the terrace or the restaurant's minimalist dining room with its floor-to-ceiling windows, both overlooking the bay. Relaxed but elegant, the restaurant's interior lets the food (and the view) do the talking, with menus devised by Chef Roxy Mudie. Her Chef's Menu is a seven-course affair, combining local ingredients to make inventive dishes like pork belly with scallops, corn, peanut and Szechuan pepper, or celeriac risotto with sage and goat's cheese.
