The culmination of a dream for chef Darren Badenhorst, who bought the space formerly known as Kalfies and transformed it into a platform for his French-inspired cuisine. A smart dining room – high ceilings, pendent lighting, a feature spiral staircase – is a fitting space for meals designed to be long, lingering affairs. From the bread to the amuse bouche to the mains such as ‘Rorschach for the sole’ (poached West Coast sole with elements of citrus and squid ink spray) and delicate desserts, a feast for the senses awaits.
