Zea

Taipei, Taiwan

Fusing Latin American in a lively, down-to-earth dining space, chef-owner Joaquin Elizondo Hourbeigt pays homage to both his cultural and culinary heritage at new kid on the block Zea: the Argentinian chef has worked all over the globe, including in Buenos Aires and Hong Kong. This Taipei address is the marriage of his two halves – and a joint project between the chef and his partner, front of house Di-Harn Yeh. With just 8 counter seats and a semi-private room seating 10, the restaurant offers an intimate evening experience generously hosted by the culinary couple. Guests dine to the soundtrack of smooth jazz on an 11-course menu brimming with fusions of Asian and Latin American ingredients:think tostadas produced using Taiwanese purple corn, local scallops dressed in a zingy aguachile and Paraguayan chipa cheese bread made using locally sourced Taiwanese dairy.
