For one of the most upbeat drinking experiences in Phoenix, Little Rituals bar at the Courtyard by Marriott offers a posh-but-welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike, with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking downtown, and a sparkling chandelier that looks like a fireworks display casting a glittering light on the main seating area. As a sister bar to Ross Simon's Bitter & Twisted (just a short walk down the block), the range of cocktails on the menu is broad and typically includes a large-format punch for three-to-six guests. Bar director Aaron DeFeo loves tinkering with technique behind the scenes, making syrups, infusions and tinctures in house using methods like sous vide, clarification, foams and other tricks to coax out the best flavours of the ingredients available.
