Milgo & Milbar

Tel Aviv

Unfussy fine dining from a local Tel Aviv talent

Milgo & Milbar

On the Pass

Moti Titman

What’s the story? Founded in 2013 in one of Tel Aviv's main corners on Rothschild Avenue, this restaurant – a popular venue in town – transformed over time into one of it most premium dining experiences with original dishes.

Home-grown talent: Chef Moti Titman is one of his country’s most promising chefs. He studied cooking in Strasbourg and specialised in baking in New York, working in several chef-led restaurants before joining Milgo & Milbar in 2015, where he has developed his skills and menus since.

The atmosphere: This is a fine dining restaurant, with white tablecloths and waiters in buttoned shirts and aprons, but it is never hushed. The atmosphere here is jovial and energetic, with music and the frequent sound of the bell summoning staff to the pass. If you choose to sit around the open bar, you can follow a dish’s creation from start to finish.

What’s on the menu? Courses are based on fresh seasonal vegetables, fish, seafood and meat. One of the most popular starters is a corned beef bite on a bed of aioli, shallot and horseradish. Other dishes range from lamb T-bone, served with a brown chicken stock, spätzle mushroom and sage to white fish tartare with kohlrabi, cucumber, raisins, spicy almonds and jalapeño cream.
