Fine dining at its most opulent, Mahonia provides a lavish ambience with no holds barred. Restaurateur Sawson Baluch’s – often referred to by those in the industry as ‘the queen of Bahrani dining’ – has a discerning eye that can be felt in everything from Murano glass touches to a collection of fine art. When the restaurant opened in 2018, Henry Antunes was the first chef in the country to offer multi-course tasting menus. Although there is now an a la carte option, most connoisseurs still opt for his 16-course option for the full experience. It takes a team of around 40 chefs, top draw ingredients from around the world and the most sophisticated culinary techniques to make his vision a reality but boy does it deliver. An after dinner cigar and digestif in the lounge area is the perfect way to round off a thoroughly decadent evening.
