Chez Claude is the casual modern French bistro from Brazilian TV star Claude Troisgros (of the renowned French cooking family) who also founded Olympe, a regular in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants until its recent closure. With a large open kitchen taking up much of the intimate dining room, Chez Claude is an energetic, fun place to eat while getting up close to the chef action. It’s also one of the most popular spots in Rio, so be sure to make a booking. All food is for sharing, with highlights including Troisgros’s Eggs and Caviar Clarisse, a dish of scrambled eggs with caviar and panko breadcrumbs, served inside an egg-shaped ceramic bowl. Chez Claude now has a branch in São Paulo too.
