Sit down for dinner at Condividere and you’ll be transported to what feels like a slightly peculiar, steampunk-inspired dreamscape, enlivened by cartoon-like murals of espresso shots and a wall of clunky mechanical clocks. Oscar-winning art director and the restaurant’s designer Dante Ferretti makes his surrealist influences known clearly, having worked closely with the likes of Pier Paolo Pasolini, Tim Burton and Martin Scorsese on the sets of Sweeney Todd, Shutter Island and Gangs of New York. With superstar chef Federico Zanasi at the kitchen’s helm (via El Bulli’s Ferran Adrià who helped dream up the concept), the food is no less illustrious, hinging on decadent sharing plates and arresting presentation. Don’t miss the millefeuille with foie gras and hazelnut, the katsu sando and skate with potato and rosemary extraction.
