Em Sherif Café

Amman, Jordan

With outposts across Asia and the Middle East – from Doha to Dubai and now Amman – female-owned-and-run Em Sherif Café has developed quite the cult following among gourmets with an appetite for quality Mediterranean and Lebanese mezze dished up in stylish and comfortable surroundings. Against a backdrop of chequerboard flooring, pale wood and hanging plants, diners will enjoy family-inspired recipes and flavours such as warakstuffed grape leaves), makanek (sausages with pomegranate molasses), balila (warm chickpeas), batata maklieh (garlicky fried potatoes in a pitta), goat milk labneh (yogurt cheese), potato mash and makdous (oil-cured aubergines) and fattoush salad. The signature burger with French fries is not to be missed, either.
