Come to Fakhreldin for the signature kibbeh but stay for the infallible Jordanian hospitality. Set in the former prime minister’s family home, the restaurant underwent a restoration led by architect Ammar Khammash. Thanks to his preservationist approach, the heritage and spirit of the original villa still shines through since it was established in 1997. The restaurant team are generous and friendly and offer a truly unique experience by tailoring the food to each guest. Regular patrons have their favourite dishes memorised, so that they hardly need to choose between the spectacular mezes, flavoured breads or even their preferred aperitif. Standout dishes include the kibbeh nayeh, minced raw lamb with bulgur served alongside a selection of fresh toppings and relishes. Diners with a sweet tooth shouldn’t miss the osmalieh, a traditional dish of sweet cream and pastry, or the halawet jibn, a cheese dough filled with cream.
