Generous portions, Jordanian charm and clay pot cooking: these are the three ingredients for success at Sufra. Reposing in an early 20th-century villa on sunlit Rainbow Street, the restaurant is homely and laid-back, making it the perfect location for a romantic dinner, or a family-style breakfast. The menu offers traditional Bedouin dishes and Levantine classics, such as mansaf, made with fermented goat yoghurt, tabbouleh and hummus with tahini. The spring menu is particularly special as the Sufra team combines seasonal delicacies with wild endemic produce such as mallow, gundelia and peppercress. With a choice of sitting in the outdoor garden with cascading fountain, or on the leafy terrace or in multiple private rooms, guests can return time and again for a different dining experience. When you walk into the restaurant, don’t forgot to take a peek at the vitrine-style bakery, where freshly baked and puffy pitas are taken straight from the oven.
