Levant

Amman, Jordan

Armenian cuisine isn't one of the more better-known, but this beautiful country's traditional foods are definitely worth exploring and Levant is a great place to start. The restaurant's interior is a striking mix of jacquards and chandeliers but those in the know head right out to the terrace, with its views across the rooftops of Amman. When it comes to ordering, Levant keeps things simple with a choice of two set menus, which will leave your table heaving with dishes designed to share. Plates include familiar favourites like stuffed vine leaves and plump manti dumplings alongside some more unusual dishes like freekeh bilfukara which mixes the green wheat grain with mushrooms and cheese to create a rich, gooey and very delicious combination, plus a dessert of milk-based muhalabrieh brulée served with apricots.
