As the name might suggest, Porterhouse exploded onto Riyadh’s restaurant scene in 2016 as one of the best steakhouses in the city. Led by chef and restaurateur Khaled Al Hussaini – a software engineering graduate who pivoted after recognising that his true passion lay in food – Porterhouse offers a modern and refreshing take on the classic ‘meat feast’. Cold and hot appetisers like burrata, kale salad and spicy Vietnamese carpaccio, are known crowd-pleasers, but undeniably, the showstoppers are the steaks. Each premium cut (Australian Angus, New Zealand grass-fed or Korean wagyu) is dry aged in-house for 21 days, then grilled over wood and charcoal. Take a seat at one of the long tables in the dining room and prepared to be spoilt for choice, or if you’d rather the decision was taken out of your hands, a comprehensive tasting menu is also available.
