The legendary London-born family of Chinese restaurants has extended to Dubai’s most iconic address – Atlantis The Palm – and the food is as wonderful and whimsical as we have come to expect from this mega group. If Willy Wonka did dim sum, it would surely look like this: Wagyu beef and truffle shaped like a miniature handbag, abalone and chicken shui maj towers topped with caviar, seafood and sesame jian dui that looks like white chocolate. Aside from dim sum, the menu reads like a rollcall of all Hakkasan’s greatest hits – hello stir-fried black pepper ribeye and crispy duck salad – as well as a few dishes exclusive to Dubai, such as lobster bites that look like lycees in a woven pastry basket. Interiors are a dreamy blend of powder blue silk and dark oak latticework: elegant, chic and sophisticated.
