zFor pizza like mamma used to make, residents of the Jordanian capital have been flocking to this Abdoun spin-off of the flagship Little Italy restaurant in the Taj Mall since it opened in 2015. In a nod to the distinctive, European-inspired interiors of its sibling, the more casual pizzeria features parquet flooring, wooden beams and vintage glass pendant lamps, while the outdoor terrace overlooking a parade of emerald-green pines is a good choice on a balmy evening. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-fire oven – favourites including margherita, salami e rucola, diavola, greca and bianca con funghi are all there – and the menu also offers a wide range of traditional Italian dishes, from bruschetta and arancini to pastas made with imported Italian ingredients and carefully sourced local produce. Non-meat eaters needn’t worry: the sourdough pizza marina, for one, is 100% vegan. Pair it with a wine, beer or soft drink from the decent drinks list.
