67 Orange Street
New York, US
Named after the address of Almack's Dance Hall, one of the first Black-owned bars in New York City during its heyday in the 1800s, 67 Orange Street is not actually situated on Orange Street at all. Instead, the bar is a Harlem cocktail destination, where owner Karl Franz Williams has devised a vibrant atmosphere with Prohibition-era details that speak to the spirit of the space's namesake. Since opening in 2008, the two-story bar has offered a varied array of classic cocktails made with slight twists and modern originals, many named with nods to Black history, such as The Color Purple and Emancipation Again. Heralded for sparking the burgeoning craft cocktail movement in Uptown when it opened, the bar's legacy endures as a premier staple in the neighborhood. No reservations.
